The Best Way to train cats
Training cats isn't as hard as you might think! Here are the most important things you need to know:
- Use treats as rewards
Find treats your cat absolutely loves. Small pieces of cooked chicken or commercial cat treats work great. Always reward good behavior immediately so your cat makes the connection. - Keep training sessions short
Cats have short attention spans. Train for 5-10 minutes max, 2-3 times per day. - Clicker training works!
Get a small clicker from a pet store. Click it when your cat does something right, then give a treat. Your cat will learn that clicks mean rewards are coming. - Never punish
Cats don't respond well to punishment. Instead, redirect bad behavior to something positive.
