The Best Way to steam peas
Steaming peas is super easy! Here's how to do it:
- Fill a pot with about 1 inch of water
- Put a steamer basket in the pot (make sure the water doesn't touch the bottom of the basket)
- Bring the water to a boil
- Put your peas in the steamer basket
- Cover the pot with a lid
- Steam for 2-3 minutes until the peas are bright green and tender
- Test one to make sure they're done - they should be slightly crispy, not mushy
Pro Tips:
- Don't overcook! Mushy peas are no fun 😝
- You can add a pinch of salt to the water if you want
- Fresh peas take 2-3 minutes, frozen ones might need 3-4 minutes
