The Best Way to plant garlic
Hey there! Want to grow some awesome garlic? It's pretty easy, and I'll show you how to do it step by step.
What You'll Need:
- Garlic cloves (get them from a garden store, not the grocery store)
- Well-draining soil
- A sunny spot in your garden
- Basic gardening tools
When to Plant:
Plant your garlic in the fall, about 4-6 weeks before the ground freezes. This gives the roots time to grow before winter.
Steps to Plant:
- Break apart your garlic bulb into individual cloves (but don't peel them!)
- Dig holes about 2-4 inches deep
- Place cloves pointy end up
- Space them 4-6 inches apart
- Cover with soil and add mulch on top
Pro Tips:
- Water well after planting
- Add some compost to the soil before planting
- Keep the area weed-free
