The Best Way to grill turkey
Hey there! Want to make an awesome grilled turkey? Here's how to do it without getting stressed:
- Get a turkey that's about 12-14 pounds (bigger ones are harder to grill)
- Thaw it completely in your fridge (usually takes 3-4 days)
- Pat the turkey dry with paper towels
- Season it with salt and pepper inside and out
- Heat your grill to medium (around 350°F)
- Put a drip pan under where the turkey will go
- Place turkey on the grill over indirect heat (this means not directly over the flames)
- Close the lid and cook for about 2-3 hours
- Check temperature with a meat thermometer - it should read 165°F in the thickest part of the thigh
Pro Tips:
- Baste the turkey every 30 minutes with melted butter to keep it juicy
- Let it rest for 20-30 minutes before cutting
- If the skin gets too dark, cover with aluminum foil
