The Best Way to breed fish
Breeding fish can be a fun and rewarding hobby! Here's how to get started:
1. Choose the Right Fish
Start with easy-to-breed fish like:
- Guppies
- Platies
- Mollies
- Swordtails
- Zebra Danios
These fish are known as livebearers (except Danios) and are perfect for beginners!
2. Set Up Your Tank
- Use a 10-20 gallon tank
- Keep water temperature between 75-80°F
- Add plenty of plants (real or fake)
- Include a breeding box or separate tank for babies
3. Care and Feeding
Feed your breeding fish high-quality food like:
- Live or frozen brine shrimp
- High-protein flakes
- Blood worms
4. Protect the Babies
Once the fish breed:
- Move pregnant females to breeding box
- After babies are born, move mom back to main tank
